OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Keep what works.
Add what helps.
DotSys is a way to organize a project.
It doesn’t ask you to replace your favorite apps.
What is Dots Depot?
A separate catalog and local tool for inspecting exact versions of reusable parts: skills, tools, recipes, starters and apps. Think of it as a workbench shelf you can inspect, rather than a store that silently installs things.
Depot’s source can inspect, stage and verify inert local files. It does not currently install, activate or auto-update apps, fetch remote packages, manage accounts or take payments.
How would I use it?
When an actual approved release is available, review its source, exact version, license and declared permissions. The current staging tool requires an independently trusted catalog fingerprint. Staging does not run the package; using it needs a separate supported setup and decision. A new version inherits no approval.
Do I need it?
No. Start with the apps and project home you already use. Depot is optional, and there is no Depot-to-Gummy installation connection included here. Until useful approved packages exist, it isn’t a reason to change how you organize your apps.
And Depot Lab?
A separate experimental development workbench with synthetic rental, travel and visual examples. Those examples are not approved Depot catalog releases. Its recorded web checks do not establish native-device or public-release readiness.
Inspect the current Depot catalog ↗Catalog state checked 15 October 2026. Depot has its own Apache-2.0 source license; individual future parts retain their applicable licenses.
